Department of Oils, Lubricants, and Bitumen offers:
- research works and industrial implementation of
developed processing projects related to the

- base oils
- special lubricating oils including air and refrigerant
compressor oils, turbine oils, heat transfer oils,
electrical insulating oils, cable filling compounds and oils
- hydraulic oils and emulsion-type fire-resistant
hydraulic oils
- automotive and industrial transmission oils
- metal heat treatment oils
- metalworking and plastic forming fluids including
cutting oils
- engine cooling fluids
- lubricating greases for rolling and slide bearings
- petroleum waxes
- bitumen, cut-back bitumen, bitumen compounds
- optimization of crude oil refining traditional processes
- research works on treatment and management of
by-products from base oil plant
- research works on re-refining of used
lubricating oils
- works related to development and revision of
specification and testing standards
Department of Oils, Lubricants, and Bitumen has access
to a set of equipment, and bench-scale to pilot plant process
systems
- a quarter-scale pilot plant for continuous solvent refining
- bench-scale unit for lube oil solvent dewaxing and slack
wax de-oiling batch process
- a half-scale pilot plant for lube oil vacuum distillation
- a quarter-scale pilot plant for bitumen oxidation
The competence of the Department of Oils, Lubricants, and Bitumen
is confirmed by the Polish Centre for Accreditation with
Department of Oils, Lubricants, and Bitumen
manages also the Secretary's Office of Subcommittee for Bitumen
of No 222 Standarization Committee for Petroleum Product and
Operating Fluids.
