The accreditation of research laboratories - four of research laboratories of the Institute were given accreditation by Polish Centre for Accreditation, a signatory to EA MLA (EA MLA = European co-operation for Accreditation Multilateral Agreement) (since 24.11.2004) and ILAC MRA (ILAC MRA = International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, Mutual Recognition Arrangement) (since 19.01.2005). It means that results of tests conducted in these laboratories with accordance to the methods included in the accreditation scope are recognized in Europe by the European countries - signatories to EA MLA (see www.european- accreditation.org) and in the world by the other countries - signatories to ILAC MRA (see www.ilac.org).
The scope of the accreditation of the Institute's research laboratories covers over 200 testing methods:

• Department of Oils, Lubricants, and Bitumen - the accreditation certificate No AB 009 issued by PCA. The scope of accreditation covers 28 methods for testing of performance of lubricants and testing of bitumen, binders, and bituminous masses, solutions, and lacquers. • Department of Additives - the accreditation certificate No AB 102 issued by PCA. The scope of accreditation covers 12 methods for testing of additives for fuels and lubricants and new and used lubricating oils. The laboratory is accredited since 1997. See the certificate (.pdf)...

• Department of Petroleum Analyses and Environmental Research - the accreditation certificate No AB 142 issued by PCA. The scope of accreditation covers 108 methods of analysis and testing of physical-chemical properties of crude oil, PLG, liquid fuels, lubricating oils, greases and bituminous products. The laboratory is accredited since 1997.

• Department of Petroleum Products Performance Evaluation and Field Testing - the accreditation certificate No AB 170 issued by PCA. The scope of accreditation covers 49 methods of testing mainly of petroleum products performance including engine tests for fuels and lubricants and CEC methods. The laboratory is accredited since 1998.

• The Institute of Petroleum Processing is recommended as the unit authorized to testing of liquid fuels within the national system of monitoring and inspection of liquid fuels quality in accordance with the act
  of January 10, 2003.

• The Institute of Petroleum Processing is recommended as the unit authorized to testing of biocomponents quality in accordance with the act concerning biocomponents used in liquid fuels and biofuels of October 2, 2003.

• The Institute of Petroleum Processing has NATO Commercial and Government Entity Code NCAGE NO 0537 H and is allocated to the National Database of Commercial and Government Entity 43H4 and NATO Database of Commercial and Government Entity Codes contained in N-MCRL (NATO Master Catalog of References for Logistics).
