The Institute organises weekly seminars for their researchers. Lectures are given by specialists from ITN and from other research centres in Poland and abroad. During the last four years ITN organised fifteen international conferences and symposia on specific subjects with the participation of lecturers from Poland and abroad. In the referred period the ITN employees took part in 68 conferences in Poland and abroad and presented 113 papers.

The ITN library has a catalogue of 20630 volumes including currently subscribed 45 specific titles (36 from abroad). ITN issues two periodicals in Polish language of scientific and technical character, devoted to the subjects of petroleum processing and gas and liquid fuels. The periodicals are following "Bulletin of the Institute of Petroleum Processing" issued quarterly and "Petroleum-Gas" issued monthly. The periodicals are distributed to many scientific institutes and organisations.
