The Institute of Petroleum Processing carriers out research,
is engaged in innovation activity and implementation
works and performs scientific-research services related
to crude oil processing, petroleum products manufacturing,
distribution and application and environmental protection.
The Institute manages an experimental production of
petroleum chemicals and additives.
The research and the experimental production
are performed under the ISO 9001:2000 quality
management system, which was certified by Bureau
Veritas Quality International - Certificate No PL 700065.
The Institute established also the quality
management system for research laboratories meeting
the requirements of the EN 45001, ISO/IEC 17025:2000
standard confirmed with the accreditation certification
by Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA).
The Institute can perform testing
of the following products:
- fuels: motor gasolines, aviation fuels, diesel
fuels, heating oils, residual fuel oils
- lubricating oils: engine oils, gear oils, hydraulic
oils, compressor lubricants metalworking fluids,
base stocks, used oils and others, and conduct lubricants
condition monitoring
- light hydrocarbons and LPG
- greases
- solid hydrocarbons
- bitumen and bituminous products
- industrial chemicals including fuel ethanol
- engine coolants
The Institute can evaluate compatibility of fuels,
oils and other transportation fluids with elastomers
and determine trace quantities of elements in petroleum
products.
The Institute can conduct tests for environment protection
and health's protection, and evaluation of occupational
risk and hazard in work-place.
The Institute is qualified to perform testing the
above-mentioned products, equipped with a modern testing
equipment, and has highly qualified staff with many
years' experience in testing of petroleum products.
The technical competence of the Institute is confirmed
by the Polish Centre for Accreditation with the accreditation
certificates for the following laboratories:
- Certificate No L 9 for the Bitumen Department
covering bitumen and bituminous products testing
- Certificate No L 36 for the Greases and Industrial
Oils Department covering lubricating greases testing
- Certificate No L 102 for the Additives and Engine
Oils Department covering lubricant and fuel additives
and new and used engine oils testing
- Certificate No L.142 for Petroleum Analysis Department
covering testing of physical-chemical properties
of crude oil, liquid fuels, lubricating oils, greases,
and bitumen and bituminous products
- Certificate No L 170 for Petroleum Products Performance
Tests Department covering testing of physical-chemical
properties of petroleum products and testing of
performance of petroleum products in laboratory
and engine tests
The Institute ensures impartiality, independence,
reliability and suitability of performed testing and
confidentiality of all information concerning conducted
tests and tested products, obtained during the performance
of orders in accordance with the requirements of the
established quality management system for research
laboratories governed by the EN 45001, ISO/IEC 17025:
2000 standard.
The results of measurements and tests conducted
in the Institute accredited laboratories are reliable
and as such are taken into account in all estimation
and conclusive procedures on petroleum products by
administrative and legal institutions.
The whole range of tests conducted by the Institute
of Petroleum Processing is covered by
THE CATALOGUE OF TESTING OF PETROLEUM
PRODUCTS, RAW MATERIALS, INTERMEDIATE MATERIALS AND
INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS PERFORMED
BY THE INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM PROCESSING
and
THE CATALOGUE OF COMPOSITE TESTING
OF CRUDE OIL
AND CRUDE OIL MIXTURES
The Institute can prepare and deliver reference
standards of lead content in motor gasolines,
in the range of 2 to 200 mg Pb/l, for calibration
of fluorescent X-ray spectrometry analysers of lead
content according to PN-93/C-04364, ASTM D 5059, and
IP 352 standards.
The Institute can prepare and deliver reference
standards of sulphur content in unleaded motor gasolines
and diesel fuels, in the range of 10 to 100 mg
S/kg and 0.01 to 1.0 %(m/m), for calibration of fluorescent
X-ray spectrometry analysers of sulphur content according
to PN?ISO 8754, ASTM D 4294, and IP 336 standards.
